? Heat Treat Specialist – Willoughby, OH
Shift Options:
- 1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM (+$1/hr shift differential)
- 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM (+$1.10/hr shift differential)
Pay: $19/hr + shift differential
Job Type: Full-time | Contract-to-Hire (90 calendar days)
About the Role:
This is a production-focused position supporting critical industries like aerospace, automotive, and agriculture. As a Heat Treat Specialist, you’ll work in a high-temperature, fast-paced environment where accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise instructions are essential. You'll be part of a team that strengthens metal parts through specialized thermal processes to improve durability and performance.
? Job Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate vacuum furnaces, ovens, and tempering equipment
- Load and unload metal parts following detailed instructions for lot control and quality sampling
- Mark and identify parts and report non-conforming materials
- Use forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials safely
- Assist in other departments such as shipping and coating as needed
- Work on your feet for long periods and lift up to 60 lbs regularly
- Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
? Success Profile:
- 12+ months of industrial experience preferred; manufacturing experience also considered
- Strong ability to follow procedures and work in a repetitive, detail-oriented role
- Basic math, English reading and writing skills required
- Comfortable working in a hot, dry environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to pass a skills assessment, 10-panel drug screen, and background check
- Shift flexibility is a strong advantage
? Pay & Benefits:
- $19.00/hour starting pay, with shift differentials:
- +$1.00/hr for 2nd shift
- +$1.10/hr for 3rd shift
- Quarterly profit-sharing incentive for benefits-eligible employees
- Health Insurance (80/20 plan) with dental (after 60 days)
- 401(k) with 3% company match (eligible after 30 days)
- Paid vacation: 2 weeks after one year
- 11 paid holidays, including 2 discretionary days
- Life insurance: $10,000–$20,000 based on tenure
