Minimum Qualifications
- College Degree or equivalent
- 6 years related experience
- Expert technical knowledge
- Knowledge of industry regulations
- Ability to lead and coordinate the team activities of others
- Ability to formulate, document and recommend new policies and procedures
- Able to work in and lead a team
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
- Ability to travel as required by business and on-call availability
The Business Applications Specialist will be responsible for supporting, enhancing, and optimizing applications with an emphasis on SQL-based data analysis, system integrations, and vendor-managed platforms. This role works closely with business stakeholder teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure data accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Serve as the primary technical resource for business applications, including SQL-based applications, data integrations and data centric troubleshooting.
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis and complex SQL queries to support business needs.
- Debug, enhance, and optimize existing SQL code written by internal teams or vendors.
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze issues, and deliver enhancements.
- Perform maintenance, identify root causes of data and application issues, and coordinate fixes with the business and vendors.
- Coordinate with vendors on application upgrades and patches, scheduling and execution, user acceptance testing (UAT), communication and release planning.
- Execute change management activities using ITSM methodologies.
- Manage user access and security for vendor systems.
- Respond to SOX audit requests and support quarterly/monthly audit submissions.
- Provide ongoing production support for ConnectWise, Acumatica and other business applications
- Provide support for application integrations
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong expertise in SQL, including stored procedures, performance tuning and complex query development/ debugging.
- Proven ability to analyze and debug complex SQL code written by others.
- Experience supporting application integrations and data flows.
- Experience supporting business applications including ConnectWise
- Ability to work independently on issue resolution while collaborating cross-functionally.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and requirements-gathering skills.
- Experience working directly with business users and technical teams.
- Experience working with external vendors.
- Experience with Acumatica and IT security systems.
