POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Van Driver (part-time)
REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator
Founded in 1970, Lake Catholic High School is a coeducational comprehensive high school with a college preparatory emphasis. Due to significant growth in enrollment, we are adding new teaching positions for the upcoming school year to support our expanding student body. Lake Catholic is committed to educating young men and women of diverse means and abilities throughout Northeast Ohio. With a population of roughly 525 students in grades nine through twelve, Lake Catholic High School emphasizes spiritual growth in the Catholic Faith as students learn, work, and serve.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Safely transport students to and from school-related activities, athletic events, field trips, and other approved destinations using a school-owned van
- Follow all traffic laws, school policies, and Diocese of Cleveland transportation guidelines at all times.
- Conduct routine pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly vehicle environment for students.
- Supervise students during transport to ensure appropriate behavior and safety.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with school administrators, coaches, staff, and students.
- Adhere to assigned schedules and demonstrate flexibility for occasional schedule adjustments.
- Represent Lake Catholic High School positively within the community.
- Complete other related duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a passenger van. Prior experience driving students is preferred but not required.
- Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and attention to safety.
- Ability to interact positively with high school students and school staff.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Lake Catholic High School and the Diocese of Cleveland.
- Must successfully pass FBI and BCI background checks and complete the Diocese of Cleveland VIRTUS program.
