Brownfield Restoration Group, LLC was founded in 2002 by president and owner, Jim C. Smith, to focus on providing the technical services necessary to return Brownfield properties back into productive re-use. Including Mr. Smith, we employ two Certified Professionals under the Ohio EPA Voluntary Action Program (VAP) and a highly qualified support staff of environmental technicians and geologists. We have established an excellent working relationship with the Ohio EPA staff through the execution of numerous VAP projects. Brownfield Restoration Group, LLC is headquartered in Akron, Ohio. The Certified Professionals at Brownfield Restoration Group, LLC have collectively been responsible for the issuance of 43 Covenants Not to Sue and eight Urban Setting Designations (USDs) under the VAP. One of our Certified Professionals was ranked second in the state by the Ohio EPA with respect to the total number of Covenants Not to Sue issued as of 2010 when the Ohio EPA last published its tracking of this record. He was also the recipient of an award by the Ohio EPA for recognition of “Outstanding Achievement in Brownfield Redevelopment” at the 2014 Ohio Brownfield conference.
