Becker Pumps is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our growing HR function and serve as a true partner across all people related matters at Becker Pumps.

Reporting to the HR Director, you'll take meaningful ownership of day-to-day HR operations across our multi-site, multi-jurisdiction organization (U.S., Canada, Mexico) while also supporting broader strategic HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data in Paylocity.
  • Administer HR policies and support compliance with U.S. and Canadian employment requirements.
  • Support safety documentation, incident tracking, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, sourcing, interviews, offers, and third-party recruiter coordination.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and create effective interview and selection processes.
  • Own onboarding from offer acceptance through the first 90 days, including pre-employment requirements, orientation, system access, and new hire check-ins.
  • Partner with managers on role-specific onboarding plans and 30/60/90-day expectations.
  • Ensure a consistent, compliant, and positive candidate and new hire experience across locations.

Benefits & Payroll

  • Administer employee benefits, enrollment changes, terminations, and leave coordination.
  • Serve as a resource for employee benefits and leave questions.
  • Provide HR data and support to Finance for semi-monthly payroll.
  • Support open enrollment, vendor coordination, and employee communications.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions and workplace concerns.
  • Address employee relations matters and escalate complex issues to the HR Director as appropriate.
  • Support disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and related documentation.
  • Help identify and address employee engagement and workplace culture concerns.

Training & Performance

  • Coordinate employee training, including scheduling, vendors, logistics, and completion tracking.
  • Support learning, development, and performance initiatives aligned with HR priorities.

HR Strategy & Projects

  • Support HR initiatives including workforce planning, compensation, culture, and policy development.
  • Partner with the HR Director on special projects and evolving organizational priorities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience, with demonstrated breadth across core HR functions with an emphasize on HR Operations, compliance and employee relations.
  • Self-starter who can operate independently, take ownership, and know when to loop in the HR Director.
  • Ability to travel 15–20% domestically and internationally (Canada, Mexico, and headquarters in Germany)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of federal and state employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, OSHA); familiarity with Canada and Mexico employment standards is a plus. Experience supporting union preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage complex employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms. Paylocity experience is a bonus. Comfortable learning and optimizing new systems.
  • Confident, clear communicator — written and verbal — who can navigate difficult conversations and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Someone who takes confidentiality seriously and handles sensitive information with the highest level of discretion.
  • Manufacturing, distribution or industrial, or multi-site organizational experience preferred.
