Job Summary
The DC IC specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory records through the planning, execution, and analysis of daily and periodic cycle counts. This role runs counting activities, investigates variances, drives root‑cause corrective actions, and partners with warehouse and operations teams to maintain inventory integrity and support business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Cycle Counting & Inventory Accuracy
- Plan, schedule, and execute daily, weekly, and ad‑hoc cycle counts
- Ensure cycle counts are completed accurately and on time
- Maintain inventory accuracy aligned with company KPIs
- Responsible for yard audits of storage trailers
- Act as the subject‑matter expert for inventory accuracy processes
Variance Analysis & Root Cause
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and resolve count variances
- Identify root causes (process, system, receiving, picking, shipping)
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Escalate unresolved issues to management with supporting data
Reporting & Documentation
- Track and report inventory accuracy, adjustments, and trends
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails
- Support internal and external audits as required
- Assist with physical inventories and year‑end counts
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Identify process gaps impacting inventory accuracy
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, SOP updates)
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Promote safe work practices during all counting activities
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of warehouse or inventory control experience
- Strong cycle counting and variance investigation skills
- Working knowledge of WMS/ERP systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Preferred
- Experience in distribution center or high‑volume warehouse
- ERP experience (SAP, Manhattan, or similar)
- Lean or Six Sigma exposure

Essential Functions of the Position:
- Performing tasks in a standing position for extended periods of time.
- Repetitive movements.
- Able to stand, reach, bend, push and pull bulky material for the entire shift and capable of lifting 50-70 lbs. frequently
- Unafraid of Heights- potential height of 27.5 ft on equipment
- Flexible schedule, including occasional overtime if required
- Flexible to travel locally to other facilities
