SUMMARY:

Machine parts according to specifications in an efficient and timely manner. Perform other production tasks as directed. Assist in achieving Alloy Precision Technologies’ (APT) priorities of safety, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep multiple machines running as assigned. Produce quality products quickly and efficiently. Exhibit an understanding of the importance of quality. Verify that parts are correctly loaded and that surfaces are properly prepared for machining. Confirm machine settings, tooling, and/or fixtures are appropriate to the part being run.
  • Perform all of the tasks associated with tending the machine, such as loading and unloading, changing filters, checking and maintaining fluid levels.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Ability to change work and tooling offsets and to understand cutter compensation to make a quality part.
  • Verify conformance of finished workpiece.
  • Read blueprints and utilize a majority of measuring instruments (CMM’s, calipers, micrometers, comparators) to ensure parts are machined according to specifications and within tolerance levels.
  • May perform CMM dimensional inspection, using a basic understanding of GD&T symbols. May apply principles of Statistic Process Controls (SPC) to make accurate and timely machine and tool adjustments.
  • Ability to perform first-piece approvals on simpler, less complex parts.
  • Keep alert to the schedule and work priorities. Anticipate job changes and use time efficiently to prepare tools and gauges.
  • May perform hand deburring, grinding, assembly, and welding operations on the uncomplicated product.
  • Report time and quantity accurately in the ERP system.
