1st & 2nd Shift Test Technicians

40 openings for 1st and 2nd shift - need to hire all by December
1^st shift hours: 5am-1:30pm or 6am-2:30pm
2^nd shift hours: 2pm-12:30am
On site in Aurora, OH
Salary: $27/HR starting out (eligible for OT) - work their way up to $32/R as they hit benchmarks/milestones in 1st year.

Required: at least an associate’s degree. 2 years of experience. Prior testing on systems of 0-600 volts. Anything 480V and higher is preference.
They need to know wiring, schematics, PCB boards, lockout/tag out procedures, etc.

Electrical Test Techs

1. Any specific technologies, circuit breakers, relays, programming experience, etc. you're looking for specifically? --Circuit breakers - Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB), Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB), Relays - ( Overcurrent, Differential, Distance, and Earth Fault relay)
2. Are there other degrees you’ll consider besides an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology if a candidate does not have 2 years minimum experience in the power industry? E.g. BSEET, BSEE, BS Physics, etc? yes How about military training? yes
3. What other types of industries will you consider? Automotive, Industrial such as PetroChem, Nuclear, Food Processing, etc.? All as long as they meet the voltage requirement
4. Will this role require candidates to create test procedures/protocols, or will they just need to be able to follow test methods? It will be both as they advance
5. Will these individuals get paid OT if/when they work more than 40 hours/week? If so, how often do associates typically work OT? Yes , it changes weekly. Can't provide a specific percentage of time.

Position Overview
LayerZero Power Systems is seeking a Test Technician to join our manufacturing and engineering team. This position is responsible for the electrical testing, troubleshooting, inspection, and documentation of power distribution equipment used in mission-critical data center environments.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on electrical technician who is comfortable working with electrical equipment, reading schematics and wiring diagrams, using electrical test equipment, and troubleshooting AC/DC circuits.
Experience working with Power Distribution Units (PDUs), switchgear, electrical panels, transformers, UPS systems, or other industrial power equipment is highly desirable. However, candidates with strong electrical testing and troubleshooting experience at any voltage level from 0–600V are encouraged to apply.
LayerZero has a structured training program to develop technicians on our specific products and testing processes. We are looking for candidates with a solid electrical foundation who can learn quickly and grow with the organization.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of power distribution equipment and assemblies.
• Test AC and DC power, control, and electrical circuits from 0–600V.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Use electrical test equipment including voltmeters, current meters, and other measurement instruments.
• Troubleshoot electrical components, controls, wiring, and electronic systems to identify and resolve issues.
• Perform electrical wiring, termination, crimping, routing, and assembly as needed.
• Inspect electrical assemblies and verify wiring and components against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Program or configure electronic devices and interface with computers and testing software.
• Perform occasional repairs to control, power, and fiber-optic assemblies.
• Document test results, troubleshooting activities, and equipment performance accurately.
• Complete electronic and paper-based test reports and production documentation.
• Follow established electrical safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and proper use of electrical PPE.
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to identify and resolve product issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Support the development and improvement of testing procedures and processes.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, wiring, or assembly.
• Experience working with electrical systems or equipment operating at 0–600V.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Comfortable using electrical test equipment such as voltmeters, current meters, and other measurement tools.
• Experience using hand tools and performing hands-on electrical work.
• Knowledge of electrical components, wiring, circuits, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with electrical safety practices and the proper use of electrical PPE.
• Experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other electrical safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, file management, and electronic documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Aurora, Ohio.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience testing or troubleshooting Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
• Experience with switchgear, electrical distribution equipment, transformers, UPS systems, MCCs, control panels, or other industrial power equipment.
• Experience with electrical assembly, panel wiring, PCB assembly, soldering, crimping, or cable routing.
• Experience troubleshooting both AC and DC control circuits.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, commercial, data center, or electrical equipment environment.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Experience programming or configuring electronic devices.
• Associate degree or technical education in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field.

Education & Experience

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred, OR
• 2+ years of relevant hands-on electrical, electronics, testing, manufacturing, or power industry experience.
