Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join their team onsite in Cleveland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have experience in motor and/or generator design and repair and may support additional sites within the North Region when complex technical issues arise. This position requires a blend of strong technical expertise, leadership, professionalism, and project‑management capability to drive the development and implementation of innovative repair services and electrical designs. Responsibilities include performing root-cause failure analyses (RCFA) to create engineered solutions, providing technical support for coil manufacturing and traction motor repair, and offering technical guidance and consultation to the Cleveland sales team.

Principal Responsibilities and Expectations
Customer Service Excellence
- Actively participate in the Unmatched Customer Experience (UCE) tiered meeting process.
- Provide electrical engineering and technical support to Cleveland coil manufacturing operations.
- Ensure solutions meet customer specifications, expectations, and applicable industry standards.
- Use Continuous Improvement Process Solution (CIPS) tools to enhance quality and productivity.
- Enforce strict safety protocols and regulatory compliance across engineering and shop activities.
Technical Responsibilities
- Provide electrical technical support to coil manufacturing and traction motor repair teams.
- Reverse‑engineer motor and generator coil designs, including insulation systems.
- Ensure repairs and workmanship align with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Assist with quality‑improvement actions.
- Develop and implement electrical repair and stator‑winding training curriculum.
- Create and refine technician electrical work instructions.
- Interpret and ensure adherence to operating policies and procedures.
- Utilize CIPS tools to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage and support shop efforts related to capital improvements and integration of new manufacturing assets.
- Ensure rewinding processes meet all required sealing and one‑way specification standards.
- Stay current on IEEE/NEMA/IEC standards.
- Conduct detailed reviews of stator coil build‑sheets.
- Supervise in‑process and final acceptance testing to confirm compliance with customer requirements.
- Provide regional support for complex electrical issues as needed (approximately 5%).
- Expected Travel: Up to 5% to customer sites.
Qualifications and Competencies
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred; other degree pathways considered with suitable technical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in electric motor design, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting preferred.
- Experience performing RCFA and FMEA.
- Background in design, manufacturing, application, repair, testing, maintenance, and diagnostics of electric motors and generators.
- Ability to conduct advanced diagnostic assessments on motors, generators, and controls using appropriate test equipment.
- Ability to perform RCFA and develop technical solutions for OEM or aftermarket design issues.
- Provide technical phone support to customers as needed.
- Ability to write detailed technical failure reports.
